We keep data collection to a minimum. This site has no accounts, contact forms, analytics, or marketing sign-ups; the only personal data you actively give us is whatever you choose to include in an e-mail (for example, to hello@logicians.com or join@logicians.com). That may include:

15Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Hostinger UK, 6 Lloyds Avenue, Suite 4CL, London, EC3N 3AX, United Kingdom (VAT no. GB315238718); servers are located in the United Kingdom, with backups held in Germany. To deliver the site reliably and securely, the web server automatically logs the requesting IP address, date and time, the file requested, browser and operating system, and the referring URL. We do not use this data to draw conclusions about you personally, and it is retained only as long as Hostinger’s platform requires for security and service delivery.

Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in operating the site securely and reliably. A data processing agreement is in place with Hostinger.

16Sharing your personal data

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. Your personal data may be shared with third parties only where one of the following applies:

• •you have consented to us doing so;
• •we are under a legal, regulatory or professional obligation to disclose it, or it is required in connection with legal proceedings;
• •our business, or substantially all of its assets, is merged with or acquired by a third party, in which case your personal data may form part of the transferred assets; or
• •we use a third-party service provider that processes data on our behalf (for example, to host our IT infrastructure).

The following is a list of third-party organisations that act as data processors on our behalf, pursuant to specific contracts we have with them, for specific activities relating to the operation of our company and the provision of its services:

• •Hostinger (Hostinger UK, London; servers in the UK, with backups in Germany): website hosting and server logs.
• •Proton (Proton AG, Switzerland): e-mail handling for messages sent to our addresses.

Switzerland benefits from adequacy decisions under both the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR, so no additional transfer safeguard is required.

17Retention

We will only retain your personal data for the period necessary to provide requested services, as needed to comply with legal obligations, or as agreed with you, or otherwise to fulfil the purposes, rights and obligations outlined in this privacy policy.

Retention periods can vary substantially based on the type of information, how it is used, and industry best practices.
